Pricing

Pricing information requires the following:

 1. Call for a site survey (see below)
 2. Choose the level of service (see below)
 3. Determine the cost of the antenna installation
 4. Determine if you plan to do your own network installation
 5. Determine if you need network support
 6. Understand the terms of service
 7. Place order

Site Survey

A site survey is required, and is free. Several tasks are required:

1. There must be a line of sight of the antenna to a transmitter, requiring an antenna to be in the clear of buildings, trees, and other obstructions. The antenna must meet the building codes and installation should be accomplished by a competent installer. A fee is charged for materials and labor if performed by Falmouth Wireless.

2. The network used to access the Internet must be examined for suitability of service. Residential routers usually fall short in performance. The wireless modem and router supplied by Falmouth Wireless is designed for commercial grade operation and includes QoS settings and SPAM reduction from blacklisted sites. Options will be explained. A fee is charged for materials and labor if your internal network has to be changed. The modem comes with three "wired" ports, but it can be expanded to nine "wired" ports at an extra charge. Therefore your existing router is not necessary.

3. Ensure your understanding of bandwidth, speed, and how performance is affected. Specifically, the Internet connection bandwidth is determined by the grade of service to the "port" on the wireless modem. Multiple users behind the port are then "shared users" on the port. Understand the "terms of service".

4. If you change from one service provider to our service, and they provide web hosting and e-mail, changes in your internal setup are usually required. Most customers prefer web-mail and web hosting from outside providers. See (2.) above.

5. Our pricing model is to provide a basic pricing that provides a connection to the IP-network. To that pricing you may use your own desired Internet connection. Optionally, we have multi-homed Internet connections at various speeds. These are business class Internet connections. Commercial IP addresses can provided as optional.

Core Pricing for Business Class service (one year automatic renewal)

Bandwidth is delivered to a wireless antenna at the customer destination from a transmitting tower.

The antenna and wireless modem works on a half duplex connection. The standard modem supports up to 18 Mbps. The modem itself is transparent so it does not limit your upload or download speed that can be up to 36 Mbps in each direction. Added to the core pricing is the amount of bandwidth desired to the Internet connection of your choice.

Special wireless modems can support 150 Mbps of bandwidth, and Falmouth Wireless provides free consultation on equipment selection. The prices below are considered representational for budgeting purposes.

The equipment is classified as Telco-grade and not residential-grade as found in stores.

Core Connection: $145/month plus wireless modem and antenna with 3 port router: $245.

Installation of antenna is $40/hour plus materials such as a mast so antenna points to a line-of-sight transmitter.

Note: The Customer can choose any bandwidth provider of their choosing, providing that the connection is brought to our Network Operation Center (NOC) in Falmouth.

For bandwidth being provided by Falmouth Wireless, there are 2 options described below.
