Falmouth Wireless now has full duplex wireless links - Doubles throughput
Falmouth Wireless has upgraded its backbone links to full duplex operation. Two wireless channels are used. One is for downloading and the other is for uploading to the Internet. Most all wireless links are 1/2 duplex, meaning upload and downloading are shared.
This means that the effective throughput is doubled. This means VoIP applications and video surveillance operations are significantly enhanced. IP-Television and streaming video are now a possibility.

New Wifibernet 18 Mbps overlay circuit is "flowing" through the wireless pipe!
Falmouth Wireless completed a technical changeover to allow our customers to use an overlay 18 Mbps service. This marks the highest bandwidth available from an ISP here on Cape Cod.
Using three "6 Mbps" bandwidth circuits, three simultaneous connections of up to 6 Mbps can be used. When one circuit becomes used, a new circuit for the same customer can be used for its available bandwidth. Also, if both circuits are used, it will trigger a third circuit for the bandwidth overflow.
This bandwidth concept provides more user capability, while preserving reliability of data communications. This concept will reduce the slowdowns normally encountered on circuits that fill up caused primarily by Bit Torrents, or other aggressive bandwidth applications. It also aids in IP-video streaming situations.
There is no additional pricing for this innovative concept. As additional customers join Falmouth Wireless, their core bandwidth rate is protected, and Falmouth Wireless continues to aggregate bandwidth at a wholesale rate to keep customer prices down. Falmouth Main Street Library now has our Wifibernet Wireless Hot Spot System!
With the recent completion of the Falmouth Library, a new Wi-Fi Hot Spot system was installed and made operational on opening day. Falmouth is a "high tech" library with many advanced computing facilities for both the administrative staff and the library patrons.
The system consists of ten Access Points internal to the building and two Access Points for external coverage around the library lawn.
The service is especially helpful to Blackberry or iPhone devices in addition to your personal laptops fitted with a wireless card.
You can even print to the Public printer server from this network (for a nominal fee established by the library).
The system is set up so the patrons obtain Internet connectivity separated from the administrators who use a fiber optic circuit and then a wireless connection to the Town's ISP. The CLAMS network is also on its own Internet connection. Therefore, there are three circuits of Internet connectivity that considerably speed up Internet processes for the benefit of security and reliability.
Falmouth Wireless' Wifibernet technology is used for business class Internet services and wireless linking between buildings that can be served with wireless connectivity by their geographical location. Optional WiFi modules are available and integrated routers are included in the system concept for advanced networking.
