About Falmouth Wireless Internet & Telephone
Falmouth Wireless Internet & Telephone is a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) that uses a fiber optic line that supports 1 Gbps Internet from 1 Summer Street in Boston directly to our Network Operation Center (NOC) in Falmouth, MA.
From the fiber optic line, we use a system of wireless transmitters based on WiMAX technology on towers throughout our service area, presently southeastern MA, Cape Cod, and the Islands.
The technology is called WIFIBERNET, or Wireless Fiber Network.
WIFIBERNET has several distinct advantages:

Designed for telephone over IP (VoIP)
Internet access speeds up to 1 Gbps
Uses small antennas with built-in routers, ready to go
Hosting at our NOC, and commercial IP address space is available
Using wireless, signals are transmitted over very large areas, and the customer antenna can capture the signal if in "line of sight".
You may also choose to have fiber brought directly to your business. A site survey is required to determine the physical path over which the fiber circuit is connected. Pole rental is added to the cost of this type of service.
The typical users are for businesses with intense Internet applications, and up to the size of municipalities with multiple buildings and distributed Internet users. Fiber Optic means access to practically unlimited bandwidth.
